doktorgradsstipendiater (3-4 års) - Doctoral scholarships within the
subject area functional materials and nanotechnology
Doctoral
scholarships, position code SKO 1017/1378, are available for a period of 3 - 4
years. The positions are connected to the Universitys prioritised
research area within functional materials and nanotechnology (FUNMAT). Those
who are allocated the scholarships will be employed and given office space at
the Faculty, Department or Centre where the project or primary supervisor is

Deadline for applications: 1 September 2002 The University of Oslo has singled out functional materials and
nanotechnology as a prioritised research area. This interdisciplinary activity
is led by a steering group comprised of members from the Department of Physics,
the Department of Chemistry, and the Centre for Material Science. This steering
group will allocate the vacant doctoral positions in collaboration with the
relevant Faculties/ Departments/Centres. The University of Oslo plays a central
role in the FUNMAT research initiative on functional materials and
nanotechnology in Norway where close collaboration between university and
institute partners is of importance. Applications for a doctoral
scholarship should be within the subject area functional materials and
nanotechnology, ideally relating to one of the following themes: functional
oxides, materials for energy technology, materials for microtechnology or
materials for nanotechnology. The main emphasis is on inorganic or hybrid type
materials. The multidisciplinary research has both experimental and theoretical
components. All recipients of a doctoral scholarship from the
University are obliged to follow a doctoral programme. Applicants must have a
postgraduate qualification, at Masters level or equivalent. The
